Inspiration

The inspiration for our work comes from the deep study of different cultures and the tracing of their common characteristics from ancient to modern times. In line with this work principle, we strive to preserve the craft and its local tradition. Another quality feature of all EMMAY objects is their individual appearance. Each form is characterized by a variety of inspirations and the expression of one' s own creativity. All glass objects are mouth-blown and are produced purely by hand. Even the finishing of the surface is done individually by hand.

craftsmanship

It takes many preliminary steps before the glassblower can blow the hot glass into a EMMAY mold. First of all, a metal mold must be made by hand for each piece, which corresponds exactly to our EMMAY shape. Because of the sophisticated and characteristic shapes EMMAY is known for, such a special metal mold can only be created by the best craftsmen.Glass blowing in EMMAY shapes requires the highest level of skill and concentration and can only be done by experienced craftsmen. Especially when it involves multiple layers of colored glass, uniquely combined by EMMAY. Small bubbles that appear in the process are natural traces of handwork. After days of cooling, the various phases of grinding and polishing follow. After different grinds have been developed and tried out in the design process, they now find their way into use. In several intricate and careful steps, the glass surface is cut by hand. This gives the object its individual structure and unique character. Every single EMMAY shape is a unique object, a one-of-a-kind piece of the highest craftsmanship.
